Ring from condom

Everytime i wear a condom i get a red ring where the condom stops on the shaft of my penis, i dont know if its allergic reaction to the latex or what it is. There is no broken skin, it is not sore at all, doesnt itch. when i take a shower and use soap it turns back to its regular color then when i get out of the shower it becomes red again. it doesnt seem infected as it doesnt itch or burn at all... any ideas of what this may be? should i try neosporin or cordozone cream?   thanks for your help

It has been 3 days... the redness has declined but spread a bit as if it were to dissapear... so this problem has been happening for a while.. but if i step up a size in latex n its too big wouldnt that not be effective?  i have consulted you before and i always go to the dermotologist and my physician to get checked out. never have i brought this up. i shower 3 times a day and keep it as clean as i can. i use q tips to apply vitamin e and lotion . i appreciate your help as it brings comfort to the mind. my one other question would be as follows: would discharge of the hole, itching, burning, be certain signs of std? i have none of the above, as there is no itching and burning whatsoever. im just sketched out about it and feel as if i should not be active for a few weeks... hopefully you will keep in touch and i am greatful of you work.. thank you very much    have a nice day and hope to hear from you soon

Hi

Yes, try moisturizing the skin. This will help soothe the red band you have noted over the area. Also, try to observe if this persists for quite some time. This should resolve spontaneously. If this persists after a week , then I would suggest you have this assessed by your physician.

Hi

I do not think this is an allergic reaction .If this is an allergic reaction then the entire area covered by the condom will present with a rash. Also, you have not noted of any itchiness or tingling in the area. This may be due to the tightening of the material around the shaft during full erection. Does this happen all the time? You may opt to use a new brand of condoms and see if this happens also.

At this point, just observe the condition. You may not need any antifungals or corticosteroids here. Apply vitamin E on the area to soothe the skin and just keep the area clean and dry always.
