Rosacea

I've recently developed red blotches on my face i think may be Rosacea. The redness is mainly located on both cheeks. There is no swelling or pain or pimples. I've always believed Rosacea to present itself with bumps and a swollen nose. Is this the case? The blotches are not getting worse as of yet but they are always present. I do drink beer several times a week. Maybe average 5 beers a night. Does this sound like rosacea? If not Rosacea, what else could it be? Could it be a sign of a more serious condition? Also, is there anything i can do to clear this up or should i see a doctor. Thank you for your time.

Rosacea often affects people with reddish coloring (though not always--dark-skinned people can get it too.) Symptoms include superficial ("broken") blood vessels, pimples, pustules, and in some men swollen noses. The relationship with alcohol is not a clear-cut as most people think.
I can't tell from your description whether you have red coloring, eczema, seborrhea, rosacea, or some combination of these. My advice is for you to see a doctor and ask. Possible useful treatments are hydrocortisone derivatives and topical antibiotics likes metronidazole. More serious conditions seem very unlikely indeed. Rather than worry, ask.
