I have been having problems with what I thought was dry eye, only at night in one eye. Optometrist said it was that I was possibly sleeping with that eye partically opened, and it dried out. I have been using over the counter meds he suggested. With not much help. My MD. Thought it might be Rosacea of the eye, since I have had Rosecea on the faceFace pain before. He gave me a months worth of antibotics to try to see if it helps. I have never heard of such a thing, and can't find any information on it. Could you give me some information on this condition.
Thank you,
Judy
Ocular rosacea is a manifestation of rosacea that affects the eyes and eyelids. This usually presents with redness, irritation or burning, and sensation of a foreign body in the eyes. Warm compresses, artificial tears and washing the area around the eye with warm water, including the eyelids may help. Oral antibiotics can also be prescribed. Avoidance of caffeine, spicy foods, and alcoholic beverages benefited others who have been suffering from this condition. This link may be of help: http://www.rosacea.org/class/classysystem.php
Take care and regards.
