Scabies

I have had these red spots all over my body for a week now. I went to the doctor and he said it could be scabies and so he have me the cream treatment for it. 3 days later, I still am itchy and see some more lesions. I only have the red bumps on me arms, stomach, chest and back. Today I had to throw out my bedding anf my new ones. I don't think i am going to sleep on the mattress for a few days since i want the scabies to die. How long do they take to die? I am going to sleep on my futon that i have ironed 4 times to kill the bugs. I also applied the lotion again for the second time. I am going to see my boyfriend next week who lives in another town. Is it safe to visit him or shoyld i wait a few more days? I really need some good professional advice. I am losingmy mind with this and i have no idea howi got it!
