I live in toronto ontario canada and a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys while ago i was looking into having a scar revision done on a old scar on my foreheadForehead lift Forehead lift - series by a doctor in Texas (due to his experience with african american patients). So after seeing my photos during the online consultation he recommended that rather than pursue the revision surgery that i go about trying to flatten the scar with 5fu injections instead under the practice of a doctor locally. But after going through the phone book and contacting numerous dematoligists nobody seems to be aware of this procedure. What should i do? Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Hello,
What you seem to be having is called keloid or hypertrophicHypertrophic cardiomyopathy scar.5-FU is one of the treatments that can be followed for the treatment of keloid. There are numerous other treatments also chief ones being intralesional steroid injections, cryotherapy, excision radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy therapy and laser treatment .Out of all these cryotherapy and laser treatment have given excellent results.
My advise would be take a second opinion from another dermatologist and discuss these treatment options with him.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
