Scared of Hiv Transmission.

by akggen, Jun 16, 2004 12:00AM
Hi Dr, recently I did what I consider one of most stupid things in my life. Under influence of drink ended up having vaginal sex only with female sex worker. During process I used 3 condoms. You may ask why?, the reason is that during sex I would stop here and there to rest and before engaging in sex again I would ask girl to change condom as previous one was dry and non-lubricated. This hapenned twice as I used 3 condoms during sex.
Now to my worry:

I am really scared that transmission of HIV could have taken place as follows. If she took first condom off it means she touched the outside of it, then she put the second condom on meaning that fluid on inside or palm of her hand could have touched moucous membrane on my penis, hence the worry as this hapenned twice.

1-What do you make of this in terms of transmission?.
2-Is itching under your armpit and groin area comon if you have lymph node inflammation. I shower everyday but I have this constant itching under my arm and in groin area, wondering if this could be related to nerve endings from inflammed lymph nodes under the skin in those areas.
3-Does intense sex as I recall it maximise changes of geeting HIV?, I guess what I am asking is what do you wreckon is my percentage risk?.

Thank you Dr, hope I have explained myself well. I know I need to get test but your opinion is important to me.

Best Regards.

1.  I think it's extremely unlikely.
2.  No, but it's common if you're worried that you have large nodes.
3. Since you used condoms, your risk is very slight, whatever the intensity.

Get yourself examined for nodes, and get an HIV test in a few months (it takes time to become positive.)  Then when you get appropriate reassurance, forget about it.

Best.

Just something additional Dr if you donīt mind, I am 99% sure that I used condoms all the time, but say in the event that I didnīt have condom on (this I ask as I drank too much and when you drink you donīt remember all), is the risk very high?.
Intense sex as it was, would seem to result in more friction in the event condom was not on all time.
Nevertheless, it is my assumption that the girl would want to protect herself aswell.
If this situation hapenned, do you think my risk is very high?.

Note: its all this condom changing that is making me paranoid. Also, the fact that she put condoms on and not me. She also used KY as lubricant.

Thanks again Dr.

I still think it's unlikely.  My recommendations remain the same.
