Seborrheic

I've been having this skin condition for over a few years now. I don't know how and where it started from. But, it can get on my blessed nerves at times. Meaning...when it flares up? Huge pieces of dry skin come off the edges of my scalp and smaller flakes off my face, nap of the neck, and inside of the ears also. Yes, I have a shampoo and a cream (which my doctor wrote the script for). But, what else can I do to control this? And will this ever LEAVE my life forever? Cause when it flares up? It makes me feel very uncomfortable in public! Ugh! Therefore, I have to restyle my hair where people don't notice it.
