Second treatment of accutane

Second treatment of accutane

I am a seventeen yr old female..When i was fifteen i went on accutane for six months. This med was the only successful drug to cure my cystic acne and hydroandinitus supertiva. I went acne free for a long time. It wasn't until I started taking Lupron for possible endometriosis. Im on my fifth month of Lupon and my skin is just terrible. The lesions on my face are very painful. I am about to end my treatment of Lupron in about three weeks. Would it be a good option to take a second treatment of accutane or other isotretinoin?

Hello,
You can go for Accutane but it should be under the guidance of a medical dermatologist and before starting with Accutane, it is important to get your liver function tests done and your pregnancy status checked because Accutane can cause serious birth defects if taken in the first trimester and hence should be taken with caution in women under child bearing age.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
