Sensitive, red underarm rash

Sensitive, red underarm rash

Hi, I'm a 21 year old male, with no known allergies to anything, and no history of skin rashes like this.
About 4 days ago, I formed a red mark under both arms, both of which are almost perfect ovals, they are slightly raised but not bumpy, just itchy red round marks.  At first I assumed it was a reaction to my deodorant, despite using the same brand for years, so I stopped applying it but it just got worse over the past 2 days.  My job requires a lot of walking, but not to the point of breaking a sweat, and at the end of the day the rashes are sort of crusty but not visibly oozing.

Should I be seeking medical attention or a simple ointment?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
It is not clear whether these itchy round patches are due to ring worm or nummular dermatitis. From the description (dry, red, itchy), it seems like nummular dermatitis but exact confirmation has to be done first. Steroids prescribed in nummular dermatitis can worsen the symptoms if it is ringworm.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
