Hi Doc,

God bless you for your good work. I am a very impressed by your knowledge and advice to pepole.I badly need your help.

I have been diagnoised with serobic dermatitis. I have flakes coming out of my head,face(Head,area just under eyes,back of the ear) and on shoulder specially on end of frollic.
I am using Protar-K and salobet oinment (it doesnt seems to effective).
Please advise any oinment or shampoo which you would think work better.
Is there anyway i can get rid of serobic dermatitis i am scarred to hair loss.

I am using Protar -K shampoo as recommended by my doctor after having prescribed me k2 zole, because in huge winters k2 zole is not helping much. but i have many grey hairs at the age of 25. so i want to know the effect of protar- k on greying if any please suggest. you can mail me at ***@****

A friend of mine tried Midnight Recovery Concentrate from Kiehl's. He was using a treatment with cortisone and his skin was starting to be dependant so his doctor asked him to stop. He tried Midnight Recovery Concentrate and says it worked wonders for him.
You can try too!

Yes seborrheic dermatitis can be cured and your doctor has given you the right line of treatment. Oral antifungals are prescribed only if topical do not have any benefit because oral antifungals are not without side effects. For dosage you have to consult a dermatologist. Photodynamic therapy is available in India at all leading skin centres in metro cities.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. 1)  What do you mean by oral antifungal medication in severe case and what wud be dosage ?

2) Are these photodynamic therapy equipments are avaliale in india ?

3) Can seborrheic dermatitis be cured ?

4) Can you please advise something for nourishment of hair's on head.

Hello,
Protar k is specifically used for dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. Salibet contains a steroid and can be used in seborrheic dermatitis. you should continue the same treatment. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases. Dermatologist also recommends the use of photodynamic therapy which involves the usage of UV- A, UV- B laser and red or blue LED light to inhibit the growth of the yeast and reduces the inflammation.

If the symptoms persist then you can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care an dregards.
