Sever Skin Peeling on Hands and feet

For 4 days now my hands have begun peeling. I can just easily peel the skin right off! My toes as well but my hands are really nasty lookin right now. My mother said it could Psoriasis. But its not my scalp, only my hands and feet.

My Dad is in a sub-acute care facility and just 3-5 days ago his skin started peeling off everywhere.  I have brought in udderly smooth skin cream and cetaphil skin moisturizer and have been applying it during my visits but do you have any particular recommendations and/or reasons why it may be happening?

I think it is perhaps because of all the meds they are giving him.

Thanks for your input!

Hi,

You should keep your hands and feet well moisturised. Do not use hot water to wash them. Either cold or luke warm water should be used.

Apply a moisturising cream after every wash, apply sunscreen lotion when you go out.

It would help to use a glycerine based moisturiser.

If the peeling still persists consult your doctor or dermatologist.

Do let us know about your progress.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.
