. A doctor attempted to drain the fluid but was unsuccessful due to clotting. I was instructed to alternate hot cold and massage the area while continuing to strech and exercise(a week after the date of injury). This helped reduce the size, but it has never fully healed. There is still a large sized lump
, and I am now 22. Will this be with me for life? If not, what can I continue to do to accelerate the process. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Hello,
This bruise needs to be evaluated as soon as possible as it looks like the hematoma has calcified. A hematoma is formed because of blood trapped in tissues. This blood may need to be drained. Less commonly, it may develop calcium deposits at the injury site and this may need further evaluation.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
