Single dark freckle on forehead after sunburn

I'm a 24 year old male and I recently got a sunburn on my forehead. The burn produced a few freckles on my forehead. I picked out the darkest one and tried rubbing it to see if it would disappear, but the next morning I noticed it got darker. Now I have a single dark freckle right smack dab in the middle of my forehead. It's not very big just dark and it's now the first thing I see when I look in the mirror.

Does anyone know if this will lighten back up or if there is measures I should take make it lighter? Also since it obviously came from my sunburn, is this something I should worry about?

Hello,
It looks like a small hyperpigmented patch or a freckle. Use liberal amounts of sunscreen, avoid the sun, and wear protective clothing. The newest treatment is an alpha hydroxy acid gel or beta hydroxy acid gel.  Retin-A cream, alpha hydroxyacid peels, and liquid nitrogen therapy are other options. Please discuss these treatment options with a dermatologist.
