Skin Flaps- are they HPV or something less serious?

Skin Flaps- are they HPV or something less serious?

I have had two bumps on the underside of my shaft for as long as I can remember and after hearing this during a physical dismissed them as unimportant, but a couple months ago I noticed that there was a third one and it got me paranoid.  After trimming, to see if there was any other evidence, I noticed several tiny flaps on my scotum.  I don't really know how to describe them, but they are fleshy colored and look as if they are barely conected the rest of my skin. I noticed that recently there was another one on the inside of my leg right were one of the ones on my scrotum would rub.  I have not been exposed to any STD as far as I know and am very caustious and careful when it comes to the subject of STD's.  I was wondering if this was related or the same to the condition nelso12 and you called skin tags?  I have found nothing that resembles my condition in my limited reasurch however I am very concerned. I will be going to a doctor soon but I was hoping you could help me prior to that, as my doctor is not a dermatologist.  I appriciate anything and thank you so much for your time.  Thanks again.

Hi,

These flaps are skin colored?

Are they swollen and red?

Any signs of pain or inflammation?

Any crusting or signs of pus?

This may be a skin tag.If you have a strong or significant sexual hstory, genital warts may also be differentials. I know you are worried about this but skin tags look like extension of skins and they may be tiny or may be  fairly noticeable .They usually present with a stalk. They may be easily irritated since the stalk may rub and twist.

Genital warts are usually flat to cauliflower like. They may be dark, reddish or skin colored.

It is best to have your physician see this. I understand this concerns you.Skin tags are not contagious but warts are. So refrain from unnecssarily touching the area at this point to prevent any possible spread of the infection.
