Thank you again for the information.
I would like to know how many times i have to do light treatment. I know that it may depend upon the condition , but generally how many times the affected areas must be worked on.
Regards
Hello,
Synalar contains a highly potent steroid and Fexofenadine is an antihistaminic. If they prove unsucvessful, then Light treatment: UVA-1, PUVA, Grenz rays, Low Level Light Therapy using a Red + NIR (LED) combination can be used. For recalcitrant cases, corticosteroids combined with immunosuppressants may be used. In addition, you can apply aloe vera to the hands. It will help.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Hello,
My previous blisters have cleared up but after the dosage of antibiotic and gupisone pills reduced, new ones have started appearing .The doctor has now prescribed Synalar ointment and fexofadine 180mg for 12 days. If the situation does not improve he has asked to do laser treatment on the affected areas.
I would like to know if the use of laser will have any longterm effects and if this will actually cure eczema forever.
Thanks & regards
HI,
Thanks again for your feedback.
My condition is improving and i now am able to bend my fingers which was earlier impossible due to the swelling.
But im just curious how longer this would take to cure. :-(
Hello,
Indeed the symptoms are suggestive of eczema. The typical symptoms include redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
I have consulted another skin consultant 2 days ago. He gave me Betazol G Cream (contains Betamethasone Dipropionate 0.05% w/w. Gentamicin Sulphate equivalent to Gentamicin 0.1% w/w and Miconazole Nitrate 2% w/w in a cream base), Betadine skin cleanser, Gupisone tablets and roxal tablets.
The situation seems to be improving. My hands and feet had swelling earlier but now is coming back to normal. But im still confused if its eczema or if its just an infection????
Iching has reduced a lot - but the whole body keeps iching : could it be related to this condition i have now? my body skin feels too dry. Usually If i scratch my skin the skin inflammates at these places - my skin is like that from childhood. I had a history of skin troubles from childhood, like white flaky skin on cheeks and warts, but they had been cured before.
Hello,
Your symptoms are suggestive of pompholyx. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
