started growing skin. At first I thought it might be dried soap or something and tried clean the hair. It wouldn't come off. I also noticed afterward my arm was tingling. I can sence touch to it at times in a wierd way.
When i was about ten I noticed I had a few of these on my forearms, they were close to what i have now, but more like skin than hair. I pulled them out and never realy thought about it again, because it was just a weird thing.
This new occurance at 22, it is like they are real hairs but covered with skin platelets
Hi,
This could be a condition called Keratosis pilaris, that is manifested by the appearance of rough bumps on the skin.
It occurs as excess keratin, a natural protein in the skin, accumulates within the hair follicles
It is characterized by the appearance of small rough bumps on the skin. There is no known cure for keratosis pilaris, only agents available to improve the appearance and texture of affected skin.
Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing cremes, lac-hydrin, Retin A and medicated lotions containing alpha
hydroxy acids or urea can be applied on the bumps.
Scratching and picking at KP bumps causes them to redden and can cause bleeding. This can sometimes lead to scarring.
