Skin loss on head of penis

by bobbyjoe, May 21, 2004 12:00AM
A few years ago I noticed a few red marks on the head of my penis.  Over the course of time, I've noticed that there has been alot of skin loss on the head of my penis, and also around the foreskin area.  I'm assuming it's because of masterbation (masturbation) and having sex?  I use lubrication as well so not sure what caused it.

Although I've been circumsized, I do have alot of foreskin that can cover the head of the penis.  With alot of foreskin, some think that I'm uncut.  I enjoy having the extra foreskin, but also wonder if that has contributed to the skin deterioration on the head of the penis?

Both areas (head of the penis and foreskin)  have now become a shinny red/blotchy surface.  Not very attractive at all, and embarassing to the eye. It is very sensitive and the skin seems very thin. Is there anything that can be done to reduce the redness, or increase my skin cover on the head of my penis??

I very much doubt that you have "lost" skin on the head of your penis, or even that the skin is "thin."  I suspect that what you have is mild inflammation or eczema of the area.  I advise you to see a doctor about getting this diagnosed and treated with an appropriate anti-inflammatory cream.  You can't rub away skin by friction or masturbation--skin grows back.

Take care.
