Skin rash

rab
My question is, I noticed that I have red spots all over my back, neck and near my breasts.  I have been using a self tanner, because I don't want to lay in the sun, I have had cancer twice. (breast and hodgkins).  The pumps are red, very dry to the touch, but they do not itch.  If this is an allergic reaction why don't I have them on my legs and arms?  Do you have any ideas of what this can be?
Thank you

I don't have enough information from your desription to make more than a guess, though it doesn't siund like anything serious.  The bumps may be a fungus called tinea versicolor, or it may be a form of ezema, or even acne or folliculitis.  To see what it is and what to do, you ought to see a doctor, I think.  You won't get bad news this time, I'm sure.

Best.

dear dr,
I have had a terrible rash, for a few weeks now.
small pimple-like bumps.Started on my abdomen, back. And spread to my neck, behind my ears.also under my breasts, right elbow, right shin.it itches a lot. So much it keeps me up at night.I take benadryl,to help me sleep.I work for a Dr.who prescribed Medrol dose pak, previously,I tried otc itch creams they didnt help. The Medrol cleared up the rash. But after a week it has come back.I have not switched soaps or detergents.I did some gardening today and noticed, Im itching even more on my abdomen.I never knew a rash could make you so miserable,I hope you can help!

ok...

I've devleoped this weird rash out of nowhere. it's on my legs, and it's only on the inside half of the lower legs. it's hundreds of little tiny red dots that are under the skin. They aren't raised but they are a little itchy. there's a big long strip of them from my ankle to above my knee. Along with the rash i have bruising at the bottom of the rash on my ankles. I'm really nervous as to what this could be... please offer some advice, i'd really appreciate it. thanks,
jason

I've been out on the beach the last week or so, and have been using sunscreen. I usually don't have a problem with the sun becuase i'm half Native American. So I'm really nervous as to what this could be... please offer some advice, i'd really appreciate it. thanks,

I believe I had the same thing you have. I have pink spots on my back and chest. The spots are pink where there is white skin and white where I am tan. It was diagnosed a versacolor and I was given a lotion from a dermatologist. The lotion worked, but a few years later the spots were back. Hope this helps.

Hi Michelle,

Well, the same has happened to me about 3 years ago. Im latin, so theoretically Im supposed to have tougher skin, but 3 years ago, two days after I had been in the sun, these spots appeared on my chest. And it itched to the point where I couldnt ignore it any longer. It was driving me mad!!! Sun poisoning is a strange thing. All of a sudden you just "get it". I have been reading in this forum a lot about sun poisoning, and they are right: Sun creams with a high factor doesnt help. I still have to try and go to a pharmacist to get a special sun cream.
Its realy weird. I can get a tan anywhere on my body, except my chest. So im avoiding direct sun on my chest now. The pain of sun poisoning is simply to overwhelming.

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SUN POISON ON MY CHEST I LAID OUT IN THE SUN ON MONDAY AND DID NOT GET IT UNTIL WEDNESDAY, I ONLY GOT IT ON MY CHEST.  IF IT IS SUN POION WHY DID I ONLY GET IT ON MY CHEST, AND BESIDES THE CORTISONE SHOT THEY GAVE ME, AND BENADRYL, WHAT CANI PUT ON IT, TO REDUCE THE REDNESS AND ITCHING.  DOES THIS ALSO MEAN I AM GOING TO GET THIS EVERYTIME I GO IN THE SUN.
