Skin tag?

Several months ago, I noticed what seemed to be a tiny skin tag near the outside corner of my eye.  Recently, the thing seems to be growing rapidly.  It's now about 1/4 inch in diameter.  It has an odd, "segmented" appearance.  The growth is fleshtoned, but its structure could be described as a miniature model of an orange segment.  Is this thing a skin tag, or could it be something else?

It could be a wart, but that's not important since treatment for either is simple and the same: either freezing with liquid nitrogen or burning with an electric needle.  Either is safe near the eye.  These tags/warts are merely annoying, but still worth getting rid of.  Any skin doctor can do this, I would think.
