Small 1-2mm bumps near base of penis and underside of shaft

About six weeks ago (while shaving) I noticed a small pimple like bump around 1-2mm diameter in size on the base of my penis where the hair area generally starts. And within a week there were 3 more such bumps on the penis shaft. Now, I have 2 bumps near the base and the same 3 on the shaft. They do not hurt, itch at all. I have not had any form of intercourse but have received/given oral sex with a single partner over the past few months.

Hello,
Molluscum contagiosum is a common, benign, self limiting viral infection of the skin. In adults, molluscum infections are often sexually transmitted and can transmit from one site to other skin sites by aoutoinocultaion. No treatment is generally required because it is a viral illness, but if unsightly, then one can go in for physical destruction or manual extrusion of the lesions, cryotherapy by liquid nitrogen, and curettage. All these are a little painful and local anesthesia or pain killers can be used prior to them.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Thank you for your reply. I got it checked by my Doctor today, he said its Molluscum Contagiosum and that he can treat it with liquid nitrogen spray or just leave it and it will heal on itself in a couple of months. He has given me time to think of the options. Does the treatment really hurt? He just said not to worry about it and the treatment is not really necessary. I was hoping he would prescribe some drug for speedy recovery but he did not.

Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis, cysts ,molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or genital warts(caused by HPV infection).

Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
