I have now been to my GP and had to drop my pants again...but again the GP didnt really seem concerned even though I am - a reddish cluster of erosions dont look great and Im worried that whatever it may be could be passed onto my partner. The GP suggested it could be a type of eczema, but told me to keep my eye on it and come back if it didnt clear up....Ive been keeping an eye on it for 4 months!
Canestan cream didnt work, anti-bacterial soap seems to have some positive effect
Should my partner and I continue normal sexual relations?
Any ideas what it could be?
Any creams, soaps etc that could be applied?
This is taking a toll on my well being, Im spending far too much time worrying about this instead of getting on with life - I feel pretty down about it - I thought the GUM & GP clinics would lift the cloud....their non-commital leaves me in a worse position!
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub, folliculitis, cysts ,molluscum contagiosum(multiple, small, dome-shaped papules, often with a central depression or plug) or genital warts(caused by HPV infection).
Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it.You can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the lumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
