Small bumps and redness

by worried46, Dec 21, 2005 12:00AM
After having unprotected sex with a partner for the first time, both vagina and breifly anal (in and very quickly out), a few hours later i started to see splotches of redness on the head of my penis but no swelling on the areas that were red.  Small little bumps started to form no larger than 1mm.  We had sex around 1am, and the whole rest of the day i was itching but not to an extreme. The second day the itching was almost nonexistant and most of the redness seemed to be disappearing.  I was just worried about the small little bumps, almost like pimples but very small on my penis, but not all over, only in a few selected areas.  I have had no other flu like symptoms or pain urinating and if it weren't for this, i would consider myself to be in perfect health. This is going to be the 3rd day of this dilemma.

This sounds like irritation, nothing more.  Treat the area gently and you'll see the spots go away in a couple of days.  If the spots persist despite being left alone, have them checked out, but I doubt you'll need to.  As I'm sure you realize, you're best avoiding unprotected sex.

Best.

Its not likely herpes if you noticed symptoms immediately after the intercourse.  Even if at 3 days you are still noticing the spots, still too soon for herpes.  It doesnt sound typical for herpes anyway.  You should have it evaluated by your doctor to tell for sure what it is.
