Small sores on penis

by medhelp11, Sep 21, 2009 04:26PM
Dr. Rockoff,

I noticed a few very small red sores that appeared on the outside of my penis's foreskin (little dots, look as if I scratched them after a mosquito bite). Two of them on top of the penis and one on the bottom of the penis. They don't itch or hurt. What could it be? I'm on vacation for past 10 days and spend a lot of time in the ocean - could it be a reaction to salty water? Or does it look like some STD??? I'm worried about that.

I wrote to you before about my problems with wrinkled skin on penis glans and reddish foreskin that I have for the past year or so and you thought it's nothing or could be some eczema. Could these be connected or you think it might be some std??? (I'm using a new account here because I forgot my login and you can't see the history of my posts now)

I showed my wrinkled skin to the dermatologist before and he gave me some cream used for diaper dermatitis (forgot how it's called) but it didn't improve things and I stopped using it.

What do you think those little sores are?

Thank you very much.

I don't think these new symptoms are any more likely to be STD's than the old ones.  I think irritation is much more likely.  I advise you to leave the penis alone and show these spots to your doctor when you return, if they're still visible.

Thanks.

Dr. Rockoff,

Thank you very much for the answer. I wanted to ask one more quick question - what could possibly cause this irritation? Could it be salty water? What could cause this?

Thank you very much once again.
