Solitary Mastocytoma

by HOlly1197, Dec 19, 2008 07:01PM
My 23 month old son was diagnosed with a solitary mastocytoma on this arm. He has recently been breaking out in hives and whelps and the skin gets blotchy in places and it goes an comes. At times they get worse then others. One doctor seemed to think that the mastocytoma was producing histamine into his body and causing him to break out . Another said the the hives and whelps have nothing to do with it an that it is a virus. I have him on zyrtec twice a day and he is still breaking out. Is this normal and can a mastocytoma cause this? He has a long history of suppressed immune system. Last December he had Kawasaki disease. Any answers would be helpful.
