appears to get warm (much like blushing), then gets red, itchy and as it progresses, very dry. Is this a terrible illness or skin condition or other?
Looked at picture of Shingles and Lupus, but doesn't look quite like either. Similar in some ways, but not the same. This condition looks red, but not so much rashy or leisians, not on the nose
and redness not on cheeks, although the cheeks may itch.
Worst parts in this disorder: itching, extremely skin (to cracking point), sometime swollen eyes and appears that it may permenently damage skin. Feels rashy, but no visible rash. More so even redness, sometimes small bumps, but not visible to the eye. Again, stress appears to be a key factor.
Does anyone know what this is? Permanent, treatable? Someone please help!
Hello,
Tour symptoms are typically suggestive of eczema. It is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin for the itching.
For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).
Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
