Sore redness on face

by mjh6566, Dec 04, 2002 12:00AM
Hello.

Whenever I shave, my chin and left side of my face get read, slightly bumpy, itchy and burns. The pores just below my
left eye and bridge of my nose, upper cheek - no hair, open wide up and have puss and get swollen. Painfully.

Is this just folliculitis? I've followed suggestions to anti-bacterial soap before shaving, fresh razor daily, etc. etc. to no avail. Sorta gets in the way of work i.e. not shaving since I'm in a professional field.

Whatever could it be?

Thanks.

If it's just on one side of the face, it is more likely to be irritation rather than acne or rosacea or some other medical condition.  That sort of thing is not from bacteria.  I'm not sure why shaving is so irritating to you, but you might try an electric razor.  I also suggest a skin doctor visit, because there may be some medical assistance that might help as well (an oral or topical antibiotic.)  If yu ever pick or squeeze the lesions, please don't....

Best.
