Sore???? that won't heal

I started out with a skin colored bump a bit smaller than a pea on my back. ONe day it started to bleed. I got the bleeding to stop. The swelling and redness went away but a small scab remained. Then one day I felt wetness on my back. I looked in the mirror and the bump was swollen and red once again and had started to bleed. This cycle has repeated serveral times. I have tried squeezing it and all that comes out is blood. This time the area above and below (not on the sides is red and the skin immediately around it appears to be drying out and peeling.  Any ideas?

I am 5'9", 160 lbs (my fat number is 34%) I was always too thin but gained weight about 15 years ago, 47 year old female, take syntroid for thyroid, have many freckles (for as long as I can remember). I used to burn, blister, and peel very easily as a child. Not so bad anymore. I have had anemiz in the past but haven't had it checked lately.
