Spongiotic Dermatitis

Spongiotic Dermatitis

I have had symptoms of this type of dermatitis since I was about 7 years old.  It is located in my outer vagina area.  My pediatricians were never able to figure out what the rash was or what caused it.  I finally had my GYN perform a biopsy and I was diagnosed with Spongiotic Dermatitis.  I was prescribed Hydrocortizone 2.5 but it is a never ending struggle for me.  What specialist do you recommend me to see?  Is this eczema by any means contagious?  Is there some kind of a cure or long term relief?

I'm afraid eczema is a life sentance. Their is no cure, because it only makes people miserable and their is a lot of money to be made from prescription drugs. I am a 43 year old man and have it on my scrotum. Just try to walk and climb ladders with red inflamed skin. This just poped up afer a long period of chronic stress. I was told that it could go away as fast as it came. But I was also told that cortisone worked.
The only specialist is a Dermatologist, but just save your money. They will only tell you what you already know. Their is some other medications but they cause cancer and apparently don't work.
Some basic things are don't use soap or hot water and take short cool showers using oilatum or a soap designed for eczema.
I have been trying all kinds of dietary supplements and changes in my diet. But nothing has worked.
Eczema and Dermatitis are interchangeble and both are used for any rash that doesn't have an explination. They blame the imune system and heredity. But they also acknowlege they don't know anything.
