Squamous papilloma on the penis?

Squamous papilloma on the penis?

I am a 22 year old male who has not been very active sexually.  I have had two partners, one a virgin (as well as myself at the time) and another 2 years ago, whom I had unprotected sex with.  I was somewhat freaked out about having unprotected sex with her, but she assured me that she has been tested and everything was fine.  We ended the relationship two years ago and I havent been with anyone since.  I have been tested for everything this side of the moon and have been cleared.

After returning from a bike ride last january, I looked down at my penis and saw a bright pink spot on the underside in the center of the shaft. I looked very closely and stretched the skin and shined a light on it and it had this dimpled, rasberry appearece to the skin.  I was alittle concerned so I went to a dermatologist and had him look at it, he said it was a little irritation so he gave me some cream and said come back.  No luck, didnt do anything.

I returned and he biopsied the area and I waited an agonizing week and a half.  The biopsy came back as "Benign Squamous Papilloma".  I had been to this same doc multiple times and he kept tellin me to relax. I had the doc freeze the area regardless and I am looking down there now and still seeing this rasberry texture around the area.  I dont know what to do.  The Biopsy states: "mild papillamatosis and acanthosis. Dermal adnexa are not noted. Viral cytopathic changes are not identified. Spongiosis is not noted." Verbatim.

Currently I am with a girl who is a virgin and I could not live with the idea that I could give her something for the rest of her life.  I care for her so much and just could not do that. My concerns are essentially What does this biopsy mean??? Do I have something that I can give to my girlfriend?  Its a very ambigous topic and I am scared that this was caused, is a wart that is contagious. Any information that I have found is very difficult to understand, and its just so scary because I feel like its going to make me be alone for the rest of my life, for fear of giving it to another.  Right now I see little tiny bumps(you have to stretch the skin and look at it in light) in a patch around the area that was treated, and had the doc look at it to which he just said "that just looks like squamous papilloma" What the heck does that mean???  I can live with having these tiny little bumps, as long as I know they wont effect another's  livelyhood.  If you could help my clarify this, I would be deeply aprreciative.

thank you for your time

The biopsy showed thickening of the skin (acanthosis).  There were no skin changes seen with viruses.  It doesn't sound like a wart, and the biopsy didn't show it was a wart.

Please speak with the doctor who did the biopsy--he is the one best in a position to correlate the biopsy results with what he saw.  Please stop trying to interpret the words of the pathology report by scouring the internet.  This is not healthy and will not solve your anxiety problem.  If the doctor tells you yet again that you didn't have a wart, please take him at his word and let it go.  Thanks.

Best.
