Stalk like anal growths

YCT
I have these growths and I'm not sure what they are. They cause no pain or discomfort save for slight itching from time to time. Occasionally, after a bowel movement, there will be small spots of pale red blood on the paper and the paler pink growth visible in the image will protrude, then retract by itself.

I've been to my family doctor and had a DRE and proctoscopy on two separate occasions ten months apart (March 14 and Jan 15) and both times been told that there's "nothing there" and that my back passage is completely normal. Any advice would be much appreciated!

As you have had your anus checked out by the doctor, you don't have  anything to worry about.

What the growths are likely to be are haemorrhoids.  These ill go big and shrink down and sometimes will show as some blood on the paper.

Make sure that you have a good healthy and balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.  Lots of fluids.  2 litres of water a day is usually recommended, more if you sweat a lot.  Having some form of exercise will also help with bowel movements.

Cut out or cut down on sugary and junk foods, processed foods and fizzy drinks.  Eating more fibre and drinking enough fluids will help so that you do not get constipated and strain when you go to empty your bowels.  When you strain to go to empty your bowels that does aggravate the veins in the anus (also if you have lots of diarrhea), and then they "flare" up.

You can purchase medications from the pharmacy for relief of haemorrhoid discomfort.  The little "stalky thing" looks like it is a skin tag and if it does bother you, you can ask the doctor to remove it.
