Staph? Cellulitis? or What?

by lryan10, Nov 16, 2008 10:41PM
Last Tuesday my daughter complained of her leg hurting. She dances on Monday so I thought she pulled a muscle. She said it hurt when she sat down, ran, etc. On Saturday she awoke with a red welp on her upper thigh (towards the part where your legs touch) that was about 6-7 cm wide. As the day went on, the red spot got larger (now over 12cm) and is hot and has developed a harder area in it.  At some points in the day it is redder than others.  She is definately favoring the leg from time to time.  About 6 years ago she had staph. There are no openings on the red bump. She has VERY bad ecezma (eczema)--feet are ALWAYS a mess, between cracks/scabs, itching. The staph went through our house. I had 1 very large one that I seem to remember started like this one--maybe I'm paranoid!!  She originally had the little bumps ALL over her body, where as everybody else in the family had 4 to 6 bumps about the size of a quarter or so.  Does anybody have any ideas on what she may have. Thanks.
