Staph Infection

My dermatologist said that I will basically have a staph infection forever and will have to treat is as needed.  Is this a proper diagnosis? Why can't I get rid of it?  I have already tried antibiotics and other drugs that have helped for a while but it comes back. Please help

so if i'm a carrier of staph I can't get rid of it?  I've had cultures in the past and they either came up as "i don't know what it is" and "staph"

Staphylococcus aureus nasal carriage have distinguished three carriage patterns:
persistent, intermittent, and noncarriage.
Only a culture test would resolve the issue.Indeed not all have this problem. This is to do with Host-Parasite interactions and as to why some persons have the carrier status is perhaps to do with H-P.

I have mupurocin and use it when I need it.  I feel as though I shouldn't have to use it though. Shouldn't there be something that will make it stop forever? There are other people that never have to deal with this issue.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be that you are a carries of staph infection as many people may be unknowingly carrying the staph infection in their nares, groins or hair and may not be knowing about it. Get the nasal swabs done as you may need antibiotics then.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I would bathe using tea tree oil soap, in that case.  It is effective against bacterial and fungal infections, so maybe it will help control it.  You didn't say where the infection breaks out for you though.

What he probably meant is that you are a carrier for staph. If the organism is lurking in your anterior nares (Common) application of mupurocin should help you. Do consult your doc.
