?Staph inside lip

by Pippacat, Oct 28, 2009 04:15AM
I have a history of both cold sores and staph infections on my lower lip.  Yesterday I had a "tingling" on my lip so applied a 5% avciclovir cream to it to try and prevent a cold sore (as I assumed that was what it was).  This morning I have woken up to what looks and feels much more like a staph infection which is on my lower lip, chin and also, for the first time ever, on the *inside* of my lip.  My questions are these - I have some Fusidic Acid (2%) cream to apply (which I am doing externally) but is it possible to get staph on the inner lip surface and how do I treat it?

Many thanks for any help any one can give!!!
