Steamroom/sauna blister

Hi, I recently had a date with this guy who had a blister scabbing on his lip and when I asked him about it he said that he got them because he was going a lot into the sauna/steam room, that it was like a burn., that he had sensitive skin- I asked him if it was herpes and he said no but is it possible that he can get this scab from the steam/sauna? I let him kiss me but then I got really paranoid-  I'm so worried now.
