Steroid-Induced Acne

I'm currently running a cycle of anabolic steroids.  I've developed some acne, particularly on the back and shoulders.  Will 100mg of doxycycline 2/day combat this effectively or should I pursue Accutane?

Hi,

Steroid-induced acne are caused as a complication of steroid usage. Characterized by abrupt onset of pruritic monomorphous papules or pustules affecting primarily the upper trunk, 2 to 6 weeks after initiating the drug.

The condition resolves with discontinuation of the steroids. Treatment with topical or systemic retinoids may be helpful even if the steroids are continued, whereas topical antibiotics and benzoyl peroxide may provide less benefit. there fore accutane is more likely to benefit you more.

Hope this helped.

Best regards

Doxycycline does work in most cases, but you have to take the medicine for about 2 weeks so they can run there corse. If that doesn't work yes I would pursue Accutane it works the best.
