Still have a rash and new bumps on everyone

My daughter was diagnosed with scabies a week ago, (I thought she had a bad rash because she is allergic to everything). The entire household was treated for the second time last night. Today I noticed new itchy bumps. My question is can new bumps arise right after treatment? Or is it my imagination that they are new and since I am so freaked out about spreading it to co-workers and friends am I just being itchy and making myself get new sores because I am so paranoid? I would like either some reassurance that the permethrin I used really is effective or if I am just being a freak about all this. And when should I worry about reinfestation if I washed everything and turned the mattresses over and washed changed the sheets and pillows and pillowcases.

Hi,
Scabies treatment involves eliminating the infestation with medications. Two medications commonly prescribed are permethrin (Elimite, Acticin) and crotamiton (Eurax).
The medication is applied all over the body, sparing the head and the neck and left on for at least eight hours.   Although these medications kill the mites promptly,  the itching may not stop entirely for several weeks.
This persisting  itching should not be regarded as treatment failure or reinfestation.
You can use anti-histamine medications like Cetrizine to relieve the itching.

However, a person is able to spread scabies until mites and eggs are destroyed by treatment. Permethrin is very effective in treating the condition.
Cleaning of environment should occur simultaneously, as there is a risk of reinfection. Therefore it is recommended to wash and hot iron all material (such as clothes, bedding, and towels) that has been in contact with scabies infestation.
You can get more information regarding the cleaning process from the following site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scabies.
