Still worried about bumps

by Wowsa, Aug 06, 2005 12:00AM
Ok, i posted a question here a few weeks ago.  I had unprotected sex with my g/f and the next day i had a single pimple on the side of my penis.  I waited a few days and i stupidly tried to pop it.

Well it didn't really pop, but it did bleed a little bit. I tried washing it off to prevent any sort of spreading of bacteria. Well two days later i acquired a few more smaller bumps, that looked like smaller pimples.  They're in an area where there are many other little flesh like bumps, but those have been there for a long while and just look more prominent now.  They weren't wart like in their appearance.  Most of them (3 or 4) are within an inch of each other by the area of the zit type thing that i popped.  But there are 2 on the other side of my shaft.

They're much more visible when my penis is flacid then when i stretch the skin or when my penis is erect.  But you can still see them when stretched or erect.  I was going to let them  go, just thinking they were blocked pores. But they've been on my penis for what's been over 2 weeks now, and they don't appear to be getting bigger or smaller.

I'm making an appointment with my doc for wednesday morning, but i'd just like an opinion from the derm on what it may be, so i can maybe bring it up to my general prac.

The only thing i can think of is HPV, but i wouldn't think it'd show up so soon after intercourse.   The last girl i had unprotected sex with before my current g/f was over 6 or 7 months ago.  So it seems odd i'd get these right after i have unprotected sex in the first time in so long.  The girl i'm with now is not promiscuous and has regular pap smears and visits her gyno regularly.  There's no reason to believe she knowingly gave me anything.  I know you can have HPV and transmit it without having symptoms though.

The bumps aren't painful at all.  I don't believe they're truely itchy, but sometimes i think it's just psychosymatic...when i think about them i notice them.  But i really don't think there's anything to that.

Any help you can give me would be great.  I'm hoping if it is an STD that it's just HPV, bevcause i hear there are many ways to treat it and usually doesn't come back.

Well thanks again for your help.

I think they're cysts, or perhaps small blocked pores from sweating.  I doubt they are any kind of STD.  My advice is to leave them alone and not pop them so the doctor can get a clear look when you go on Wednesday.  I don't think you'll be getting any unpleasant news.

Best.

Thank's doc.  I was wondering if buying viagra online and using it was a very bad idea.  I lose sensation with condoms all together but i still want to use them to prevent these blocked pores.  Is it ok to use?
