Stinging Crotch Rash

I've recently gotten this weird rash on the left side of my crotch & on my thigh. Somedays it hurts and somedays it doesn't. Right now it happens to be stinging like a *****. But the area has little red bumps on it and when I touch them they burn. I can't find a comfortable position to lay in at night because no matter how I sleep, the area will sting and become unbearable. Will an over the counter cream for this? Do you think it's a yeast infection? The rash hasn't been spreading.

Although the site is quite unusual,but I would like to rule out herpes zoster first. Shingles occurs in people who have had chickenpox and represents a reactivation of the dormant varicella-zoster virus. The first sign is usually a tingling feeling, itchiness, or stabbing pain on the skin. After a few days, a rash appears as a band or patch of raised dots on the side of the trunk or face. The rash develops into small, fluid-filled blisters which begin to dry out and crust over within several days. When the rash is at its peak, symptoms can range from mild itching to extreme and intense pain.

Treatment of shingles includes antiviral drugs, steroids, analgesics and anti viral eye drops.I sincerely suggest you to get it examined from a dermatologist and get it evaluated.
