Stinging Penis After Swimming Pool

After swimming in a pool, my 10-year-old son experiences occasional stinging in the tip of his penis while urinating. This happens after he's been swimming in either a traditional above-ground pool using Vision-X chemicals and chlorine and an in-ground, salt-water pool. Right now, he just rinses his penis with tap water and drinks more water to try to flush his system. If it's the chemcials that are irritating his penis, why wouldn't it happen every time he swims? Any treatment you can recommend?

May be to do with the Ph,salinity of the water.Cleanse with tapwater  be all that may be required

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it sounds like irritant contact dermatitis.Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Wash  the skin with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat it dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves.If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort.

If the irritation persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Urethritis has to be ruled out.
