Strange brown/red lesion

Hi..

On the left side of the inside of my buttock crack, i developed what i thought was a spot. It was red and raised with a white head. Not very painful though. After a few days this went away, leaving a lesion that is almost perfectly round, that looks brown in colour. I can see it easily as the skin colour is different.

Every now and again the same lesion goes red and swells up for a few days, then goes down to the brown lesion again. Any idea what this could be? Its not massively painful, just annoying, as it keeps recurring. Almost like a recurring whitehead (spot)

Thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be a boil or a cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.
To confirm the diagnosis please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Hi,
About a week ago I developed a lesion about an inch and a half long by 1/2' wide. It is where my leg meets my groin area and is a bit painful. I've tried a few different otc meds but it doesn't seem to help. Can you offer any advice?
Thank you.
Dan
