Strange itching blister for 3 weeks, now more rashes on body

by redgenie78, Sep 30, 2008 10:20PM
Hi three weeks ago, I've noticed an isolated blister that was itching. I used mupirocin ointment which didnt help as well as clobex lotion which also didnt help. I went to a doctor two weeks later who thought it was a hive and gave me a fluocinonide cream. A week passed and I found 2 more blisters around the genital area, then I looked closely the next day and noticed sort of a rash on each hip. The cream did not help. Last thing I tried was potassium manganesum....it seems like it didnt help but the bigger blisters (one on back and two on genital area above the penis) are slightly moist now and deflated a little. Nevertheless today I noticed another small rash on the bottom of my neck........All blisters and the rashes are very itching....it seems like some of them have a tiny black dot in the middle..........I have an appt with dermitologist in two weeks...but I am affraid that its too long of a wait....please help

Hi,

Blisters could be due to repeated  friction, burns, viruses, or allergies to substances resulting in contact dermatitis  Some people have significant allergies to detergents or cleaning chemicals that can at first show up as blisters. Blisters and/or rash may be present and should be evaluated by a doctor to rule out a viral cause. If this is located in the genital area, genital herpes is one condition that needs to be ruled out. It presents with one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur.

It would be best to have it evaluated by your dermatologist for proper management. Take care and keep us posted.
