Strange skin problem on the scrotum.

by wtf1000, Sep 01, 2004 12:00AM
I'm a 24 yr old male with high blood pressure and diabetes.

A few months ago I noticed a bump on the outside of my scrotum.  On the "wall".  And I could feel the whole thing, by running my fingers around it, and it went pretty deep inside.. maybe 1/4 an inch or so.  It went away.

A week ago I noticed another one.  I thought nothing of it, figured it would go away.

Then on Saturday I woke up and the whole wall of my scrotum on the left side was hard as a rock and maybe 1/4 an inch thick.  It was 3-4 in long, by 2-3 in tall and 1/4 an in thick.  And it kind of hurts near the back where it rubs against my leg.

Sunday it started leaking from the spot where the pimple was, and went down some in size.  Monday it started leaking quite a bit a brown/red/or clear liquid.

Tuesday its not leaking as much, and has gone down a little bit more in size... now its maybe 2 in long by 1 in tall and maybe 1/8 in thick and its kind of flimsy.  The scarey part is that there is what appears to be a white tissue sticking out of the hole where the "pimple" was.  I can push in on it and it goes back in, but then a lump sticks out a bit.

The whole left side of my scrotum seems thicker then the right side.  But no other bumps or pimples or anything.

What on earth is wrong with me?  Is it serious?  Will it continue to go away?  Should i worry?  Is it some kind of STD?  I can't find ANYTHING about this online.

Im kind of afraid to go to a doctor, in person, as this is kind of in an embarassing location.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

Please go to the doctor.  It sounds as though you have an infection in the skin of the scrotum.  It may be an allergic reaction, or contact dermatitis.  Neither one is serious, and most likely neither is an STD, but you need to treat them anyway.  So do yourself a favor and overcome your reluctance to have this diagnosed and treated.  Thanks.

Just a quick update...

Whatever the "tissue" looking stuff that was in the hole yesterday is gone today.  Now there is just a hole.  It leaked ALOT today of this reddish brown liquid.  If I didn't know better, I would think that I just have a hole in my scrotum somehow.  When I move the scrotum around either fluid will come out of the hole (few drops here and there) or air will bubble out.

The left wall is still hard near the top.  Still maybe 3-4 in long, 1-2 in tall and 1/4-1/8 in think.  The hole is in the hard area.

The thickness of the scrotum has moved over to the right side also (or is moving over there)

Hope this helps you tell me whats going on.

Thanks Doc!
