Strange spot on skin...

Hi... I have a light brown spot in my skin... about 5mm that I´ve had for a long time. I mean, it is not new. But yesterday I noticed some little scales on it... I´m kind of worried about it, I´ll try to see a doctor tomorrow, but in the meantime I wanted to ask if you have any idea of what I could be. Thanks

Such kind of brown spot can be due to freckle, mole or a lentigo. If you notice changes in the mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked for melanoma if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.
