Strawberry hemangiomas or nevus when superficial, often are not treated. When they are allowed to disappear on their own, the result is usually normal-appearing skin. Sometimes large cavernous hemangiomas or mixed hemangiomas may be treated with oral steroids and injections of steroids directly into the hemangioma. Nowadays laser treatment and a combination of laser and steroid injections are used. The method of treatment depends on the position and size of hemangioma and it is a sole decision of the dermatologist/ pediatric surgeon. Steroid injections are not without side effects and should be used with caution in infants.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
