Sudden black "scab" with dark around it.

I woke up this morning to find what looks like a small scab, almost like a black head but coming out of my penile shaft and the surrounding skin looks pretty dark. There is no pain, I am just wondering if anyone has any idea what this is? Should I be worried?

It's been some time since I had the scab, it actually fell off but the area where it appeared still has a darker color around it. there is no itch nor pain, no symptoms others besides the color of that particular spot.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This black scab can be due to insect or mosquito bite with some accidental scratching. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
