Sudden change in texture of hair

Hello,

My hair used to be ultra shiny, healthy, normal and straight. In the past 2 years, while living in texas for more than three years,  they have taken a dramatic turn. I noticed a few strands of hair growing thicker, and coarser than the rest of the hair. I then decided to bleach my hair for the first time and unfortunately the person who bleached my hair left the bleach on for more than half hour and I had no idea of what was to be done since it was my first( and only time) that i bleached my hair. Since that episode, hair growing from top of my crown have a different texture than rest. If I slide the damaged hair between my fingers, I can feel the unevenness and the coarseness, almost like a horse's mane. I have gotten into the nasty habit of pulling out the damaged hair, thinking they will grow back normal, but sadly, not. The crown area is sore most of the times, my research indicates possible follicular damage or hormonal changes that are causing a havoc with my hair.
