Sudden recurring cystic pimples in pubic area?

About two weeks ago, I noticed a pea-sized bright pink/red lump appeared in my pubic area, about half an inch up from my penis. The lump was somewhat hard and it was painful to put pressure on it. I figured it was a pimple - I swabbed it with rubbing alcohol, popped it (white pus inside), and it disappeared. About 5 days later another one appeared near the fold where the groin meets the leg - same deal. Now another one appeared in my groin area. Is it normal for acne to do this? I'm 22 years old and had moderate-severe facial acne in my early and mid teens - two rounds of Accutane cleared that up though. I also have Fordyce spots so it seems like my sebaceous make-up isn't the best. I was diagnosed with molluscum back in February, but it's almost completely gone by this point, save for a few teeny bumps that pop up now and again. Any guesses? I can post pics if that would help.

It looks like irritated and infected hair follicles or boils. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).

Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics and incision and drainage may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
