Sudden severe hair loss

Hi,
I am suddenly experiencing severe hair loss. People are asking me why I'm going bold. It is throughout the front of my scalp and in just 5 months I have lost more than 50% of my hair. My doctor doesn't know what is happening since all my test results are normal and I'm not under stress. Heredity is out of the question b/c both my parents and also my grandparents have very thick, full hair. I have colored my hair a couple of times in the past 6 months, could that be the cause? If yes, will my hair grow back?

What is your age and gender?
Have you been on any medications which could be causing hair loss as a side effect?
You need to understand that hair coloring can in fact cause hair loss esp in individuals with sensitive hair and scalp skin.
What you need to do now is maintain a healthy protein rich diet, drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Also consult your dermatologist whether any topical application medicated creams would help in your case.
If you still are not convinced, then ask your physician to get you an appoitment with a hair specialist - trichologist.
