Ever since I adopted my dog, (chihuahua) I've developed swirly rashes that come intensely for a few minutes, then go away as mysteriously as they came. They're itchy!

I'm not allergic to cats, but ppl are usu more allergic to cats than dogs, so why wouldn't I also be allergic to cats too?

Strangely, even if I'm away from my dog for weeks (I went on vacation), I still get these odd rashes! Everywhere, too, my arms, torso, these small, round, pink rashes that look swirly. Sometimes I get them on both my hips or back and they look like they're the same rash on either side, like mirror images! Weird! They can get bad anytime, but at night they can be bad. They leave no trace when they're gone! Putting on benadryl or hydrocortisome usu solves the problem  instantly. Or I can just scratch it for a few minutes, and they go away in a few minutes to an hour. At night it can be bad. I would have to wake up and change my shirt just to feel better, or put on benadryl cream. That usually solves the problem right away.

But even if I'm not near my dog, if I'm trying on clothes in a fitting room, the sheer pulling on and off of clothes will cause me to get this red patchy rash that goes away when I put my own clothes back on.

When I get stressed or agitated, or sweaty, it can also occur.

Very irritating!

I have been recently tested for STDs and it came back clear, and I plan on seeing my doctor as soon as I get a day off!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be hives. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours. The most likely triggers for acute urticaria are allergies to pets, horses, latex and foods, such as shellfish and nuts, bee or wasp stings, allergies to medicines, Viral infections, such as glandular fever and herpes, dental and sinus infections, fungal infections, blood transfusions and vaccines.

Take some antihistaminics like Benadryl and apply the steroid cream. You can also apply calamine lotion as it helps in soothing the skin. If the symptoms persist then topical and oral steroids may be needed. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
