Suspected Pityrosporum Folliculitis?

I have noticed in the last few weeks that I have small red pimple/spots on my chest and stomach (there aren't loads but enough for me to be wary of them). At times throughout the day my chest will itch although I'm not sure if it is the spots that are itchy or the area surrounding it. I'm pretty sure that at the moment the problem is exaggerated by the fact I am constantly thinking about it, thus I may be imagining or worsening the itchy feeling unnecessarily.

Also, I have similar ones on my back but I think I've had these for much longer and I've only recently become aware of them again as I'm constantly under the impression I need to itch.

I thought that perhaps it was just spots that would clear, and on and off that seems to have been the case, but then other ones would appear elsewhere and I'd be back at square one again. I've looked online for people who have similar and eventually stumbled across pityrosporum folliculitis, which I think it may just be. The reason for that is because one web page says that the itches come in episodes and can feel worse after sweating or showers, when itching the spots may create a hive-like reaction. I have had this recently after showering and figure it is probably linked.

What can I do to relieve the spots and ensure they don't come back if it is a yeast-like problem? I read that anti-fungal creams can help but is there anything else I can do?

Also, if someone else has experienced this sort of thing before but knows it isn't pityrosporum folliculitis, what else could it be?

Thank you.

Ok,

I recently discovered I had this too, itchy pimplea on back chest scalp and face.

I have been clear for only a week or so, I have no idea if it will last...

What I have done is changed my diet to cut down in sugary/fatty foods as well as using a shampoo called nizoral.

I appy the shampoo all iver the affected areas whilst in the shower (on wet skin) and then leave the shampoo to sit for at least 5 mins.

I keep rubbing it all around to make sure it gets in every nook n cranny of my skin.

Once it has been on for 5 or so mins I rinse.

Do this for a week, if you see no improvement after 3 days I would start considering booking a doc appointment.

I now alternate between head and shoulders and nizoral.

I am praying that this keeps it away, my skin is now incredibly smooth and alot less oily!

***@**** email me if you have any further questions.
